Anxi County, oolong tea are the main producing areas in China, tea has a long history, tea has been produced in the Tang Dynasty. Anxi County mountain air Tieguanyin tea, elevation 1680 meters. Tie Kwan-yin, also known as Red Heart Kwan-yin and Hongyang Kwan-yin, is one of the top ten kinds of tea in China. History of Anxi tea

"Famous tea is hidden in famous mountain". According to Anxi County Annals, the production of Anxi tea began in the late Tang Dynasty, thrived between Ming and Qing and is flourished nowadays. It already has a history of over 1,000 years. The unique natural conditions of Anxi are very suitable for this delicate tea of Tie Kwan-yin.

Guanyin delivers dream

Around the year of 1720, a farmer called Wei Yin of Songyan village in Anxi Yaoyang, was very diligent in planting tea. What's more, he was a devout Buddhist. Every morning and night, he would put a cup of tea before the statue of guanyin (a buddism godness) to worship. One night, he dreamed that he found a tea tree which was opulent and fragrant in the crevice between stones. The next day, he followed the road and direction in the dream and he really found the tea tree with oval lush green leaves and tender purple buds. Wei Yin dag out the tea tree and planted it in his house. He named it "Tie Kwan-yin".
